Rosalyn “Rosie” Reavis Stanley, 86, went to be with her Lord on Friday, October 10, 2025. There is no doubt that the first person to greet and hug her was her beloved husband, Boe. Waiting in line to welcome her home were her parents (Rad and Irma Reavis), two brothers (Elwyn Reavis and Don Reavis), and many other family members and dear friends.
Rosie was born on July 3, 1939, in Alvin, Texas. Upon graduating from high school in Beaumont, Texas, she attended East Texas Baptist College where she met the love of her life, Boe Stanley. From the beginning, she was his beautiful “yellow rose of Texas” and he made sure she always knew that. While dating, he told her he was called to missions and asked her if she was okay with that. She responded with, “Wherever God tells you to go, I’ll follow.” After they married in 1959, Rosie taught school while Boe pastored and attended seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. They welcomed their daughter Ruth Anne in 1964, and two years later Boe and Rosie followed their calling to serve as missionaries in the Philippines. While in the Philippines, Rosie gave birth to Steve in 1967 and Chris in 1971. As Boe ministered to the Filipino people, she homeschooled all three children. Rosie’s gift was service and hospitality, so she was very active in the local churches, starting WMU (Women's Missionary Union) groups, playing the piano, and teaching Sunday School. Her favorite act of service was entertaining missionary families and local pastors and their wives. She enjoyed inviting people into their home, preparing delicious meals, and partaking in sweet fellowship. After retiring from the mission field and moving to Georgia, Rosie worked for Wayne Yancey and Associates in title research. Building friends and relationships in Warner Robins/Perry, they kept their roots in middle Georgia and were active members at Friendship Baptist Church (a church Boe started in 1990). Rosie especially enjoyed singing in the choir and preparing food for pot luck dinners at the church. She will be remembered for her kindness, hospitality, warmth, and faithfulness as she served her Lord.
Rosie was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother (Nana). She enjoyed cooking for family and friends, playing the piano and singing, reading anything written by Max Lucado, and spending time with her grandkids. When grandkids visited, Nana always made sure they had freshly baked blueberry muffins and brownies waiting on them. Her children have fond memories of her filling the home with music, wonderful kitchen smells (with the exception of liver and onions), love, and pictures of her beloved Texas Bluebonnets.
Rosie’s memory will live forever in the hearts of her children, Ruth Anne Osborne (Chuck), Steve Stanley (Mandy), and Chris Stanley (Claudia); grandchildren, Taylor Osborne Brooks (Bruce), Caleb Osborne (Brooklynn), Logan Osborne, Matt Stanley, Kira Stanley, Ashley Stanley, Emily Stanley, Zach Stanley, and Paityn Stanley along with many other loving family members and friends.
Visitation will be Saturday, October 18, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at McCullough Funeral Home in Warner Robins, GA. A funeral service will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Following the service, Rosie will be laid to rest in Parkway Memorial Gardens.
For friends unable to attend at this time, the service will be streamed live via the McCullough Funeral Home’s YouTube page.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Rosalyn “Rosie” Stanley to the Friendship Baptist Church Building Fund, 1322 Feagin Mill Road, Warner Robins, GA 31088.
