Rosemary Chaney

October 19, 1940 — January 19, 2022

An adored wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother Rosemary Chaney, left this life for her heavenly home on Wednesday, January 19, 2022. She was 81 years old.

Born in Washington, Indiana on October 19, 1940, Rosemary was the daughter of the late William J. and Norma Williams Ritter. She married Cleo Clarence Chaney on July 19, 1958 and the couple raised four children together. A talented seamstress and cook, Rosemary was passionate about sewing and cooking. Baking and cake decorating were some of her favorite things to do, along with cross stitching. She was employed at Robins Air Force Base before she went to work as an office manager for Gatwick Senior Village in Perry. For many years, Rosemary and Cleo traveled to various car shows, showing off their newly restored classic automobiles. Rosemary was the former president of the Middle Georgia chapter of the Antique Car Club of America and a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Most of all, she was devoted to her family and loved them dearly.

In addition to her parents, Rosemary was preceded in death by her sons, Link Chaney and Kelly Chaney; brother, John Ritter; and nephew, Mark Witherington.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her husband of 63 years, Cleo Chaney; children, Bill Chaney (Michelle) and Dina Chaney Peterson (Gary); daughter-in-law, Susan Chaney Walker (Richard); sister, Nancy Ritter Maddox; sister-in-law, Betty Ritter; 10 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 23, 2022 at McCullough Funeral Home. Rosemary’s service will be held immediately following visitation at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest at a later date in Magnolia Park Cemetery. For friends and family unable to attend, the service will be streamed live via the McCullough Funeral Home Facebook page at www.facebook.com/mcculloughfuneralhome/live/.
