Roy C. Nolan, 81, entered into rest on Saturday, March 16, 2024.

Roy was born on February 18, 1943, in Colon, Republic of Panama to the late Roy and Fay Nolan. He grew up in Panama and graduated from Artes de Oficio High School in 1964. From there, he would work as a heavy machinery operator on the Panama Canal for ten years. During that time, he met and married his wife, Deanna in 1968 and they started a family. In 1979, they would relocate to Brooklyn, New York and he would work at Sing-Sing and Fishkill Correctional Facility as a corrections officer until his retirement in 2009. The family then moved to Warner Robins, Georgia in 2011 where he was a “self-proclaimed” entrepreneur booth owner/operator at Smiley’s in Macon, GA, selling various collectibles. In his free time, Roy loved listening to music, watching boxing and baseball, especially his favorite teams, The New York Yankees and The Atlanta Braves. He will be remembered fondly for his charming spirit and warm demeanor as well as his signature phrase of always being “Cool and the Gang.” Roy’s presence will be deeply missed by those he held most dear.

His memory will forever be treasured by his wife, Deanna H. Nolan; children, Yvette C. Yeager (Reggie) of Bonaire, GA, Pamela H. Crittenden (Wendell) of Bonaire, GA, and Cecilio Freeman (Peta-Gaye) of Chester, NY; grandchildren, Rafael McKensie (Andreea), Dominique Crittenden, Kyanna Yeager, Ebonie Crittenden, Zuria Freeman, and Jason Freeman; great-grandchild, Rafael McKensie, Jr.; sisters, Susanna Nolan (deceased), Vanessa Nolan of Colon, Republic of Panama, and Shirley Nolan of Brooklyn, NY.
