Rudolph Hartridge Fields, 78, entered into rest on Wednesday, October 4, 2023.

Rudolph was born on November 22, 1944, in Swainsboro, Georgia where he grew up and attended Swainsboro High School. Shortly thereafter, he joined the United States Army and served honorably for four years, ending his career as a Specialist where he received several awards including Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and Marksman. In 1964, Rudolph married the love of his life, Roberta, and started a family. He went on to retire from a Civil Service career on Robins Air Force Base doing manufacturing. From there, he spent 10 years doing security for the Georgia National Fairgrounds. Rudolph loved people in general, but especially his family. A real family man, his free time was spent involved in both his children’s and grandchildren’s activities.

His parents, Rudolph Willie Fields and Martha Henry Fields, preceded him in death.

His memory will forever be treasured by his wife of 59 years, Roberta Steinberg Fields; children, Ernie Wayne Fields (Teresa) of Bonaire, Georgia and Greg Fields (Nicole) of Macon, Georgia; grandchildren, Carmen Floyd (Caleb), Hartridge Fields (Emily), and Devin Mazza; great-grandchildren, Ranger Cash Floyd and Scout Ellis Floyd; and sister, Patsy Thompson of Swainsboro, Georgia.

Visitation will be Sunday, October 8, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home.  A funeral service will immediately follow at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home.
