Cartersville

Sally Lynne Coffey, 89, was peacefully reunited with her husband, Earl Eugene Coffey, in Heaven on Sunday, January 14, 2024.

Sally was born in Lakewood, Ohio, to the late Eugene Murray Duncan and Elizabeth M. Downer. With a true servant's heart, Sally dedicated her career as an LPN to Middle Georgia Orthopedics.

Sally's commitment to community service extended beyond her professional life. She played a vital role in organizing the Special Olympics on Robins Air Force Base and contributed to the CSM Food Bank. She also served on the Georgia Disaster Team. Known for her hospitality, Sally graciously hosted numerous get-togethers at her home, creating warm and memorable moments for those around her.

Family was at the center of Sally's life, and she was deeply involved in the lives of her children and grandchildren. She was also a longtime dedicated and active member of Evergreen Family Fellowship; Sally's faith was an integral part of her life. She went above and beyond, and imparted her wisdom as a Children's Sunday School teacher.

Sally is survived by her children, Nancy Coffey Childs (Buddy), Tom Coffey (Sarah), grandchildren, Travis Childs (Amanda), Lindsay Kanka (Jaroslav), Stephen Tucker Childs (Amber), Connor Coffey, and Luke Coffey; great-grandchildren, Baylee, Emma, Aby, and Charlie Childs; as well as one great-great-grandchild, Melanie Kay.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 18, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home.  A funeral service will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home.  Afterward, Sally Lynne Coffey will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
