Samuel E. Smiddie, Jr. passed away on May 20, 2006. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 24, 2006 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with interment following in Parkway Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 23, 2006 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home.
Mr. Smiddie was born in Paris, Arkansas. He was a member of the Church of Christ. During the Korean Conflict, he proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Mr. Smiddie was retired from Robins Air Force Base, where he worked in Civil Service as a Planning Supervisor. A big fan of Alabama, he also coached Little League baseball and Recreation basketball for several years. His parents, Samuel E. Smiddie, Sr., and Laura Ruth Smiddie, brothers, Ronald Wayne Smiddie and David Joe Holcomb, and sister, Mary Bunyak, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy Smiddie, Macon; children, Laura, Debbie, Peggy, Mickey; Samuel III; Chip; sister, Michelle; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
