Sandra Kay Meyer, a beloved sister, family member and friend, passed away on September 4, 2024, at the age of 67. Born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Sandra's journey took her from the arid landscapes of the Southwest to the lush, vibrant community of Eugene, Oregon, where she built a life rich in both work and passion.

Sandra was a woman of diverse talents and unwavering dedication. Her career spanned roles as a Key Punch Operator, an alcohol and drug counselor, and a city bus driver in Eugene. Each position reflected her commitment to serving others, whether by providing essential support, guidance, or reliable transportation. Her career as a bus driver was particularly cherished, and she retired from this role with a sense of fulfillment and pride. Following the death of her father, Sandra relocated to Georgia to be closer to her family, marking a new chapter in her life.

Sandra had an enduring love for sail boating, a hobby that brought her immense joy and a sense of freedom. Her dogs were her constant companions and held a special place in her heart, filling her life with love and companionship.

Her parents, Charles and Ela Longbine, preceded her in death.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her siblings, Debra Harness (Mike) of St. Petersburg, Florida and Mike Longbine (Marsha) of Kathleen, Georgia; cousin, Mary Rose Ozga of Boca Rotan, Florida; and a host of loving family members and friends.

A memorial gathering celebrating Sandra’s life will be held on Sunday, September 8, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home.

Sandra’s spirit will forever sail on, carried by the winds of cherished memories and the love she gave to those around her.
