Sara Faye Langston Saunders

January 19, 1939 — June 6, 2025

Sara Faye Langston Saunders, 86, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, June 6, 2025.

Sara Faye was born on January 19, 1939, in Dublin, Georgia, to the late Hoke Scarborough and Sarah Frances Graham Scarborough. She was raised in Laurens County, but spent most of her life in Centerville, Georgia and attended Warner Robins High School. Sara Faye was deeply rooted in her community and actively involved in local organizations. She held a leadership role as a past president of the Centerville Homemakers Club and was a member of the spirited “Rowdy” Red Hat Society. Sara Fay also retired after a distinguished civil service career as an Electronics Technician on Robins Air Force Base.

Sara Faye had a vibrant spirit and a creative soul. She found joy in tending to her garden, was an avid reader, created beautiful handmade crafts, and enjoyed traveling the country, having visited many states as well as multiple foreign countries over the years. Her home was a warm and welcoming place, always open to friends and family, just like her generous heart. Sara Faye will be deeply missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing her.

In addition to her parents, Sara Faye was preceded in death by her first husband, M.C. Langston, second husband, Norman E. Saunders, brother, Herbert Spencer Scarborough, and half siblings, Vernon Craft and Carmen Craft.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her children, Vicki L. James (Richard) of Kathleen, Brenda K. Brown (Bob) of Warner Robins, Deb Dykas (Michael) of Safety Harbor, Florida; grandchildren, Jason Randall James (Allison), Joshua Robert Brown (Chris), Lt. Colonel Brandon Ryan Brown (Dianna), Justin Matthew James (Jennifer), and Michael M.C. Dykas; siblings, Kyle Smith Scarborough, John Allen Scarborough (Linda), Raymond Graham Smith (Elaine), Olivia Estella Beauchain, Elizabeth Idelia Rowland (Barrie), Paula Cheryl Seeley (Stan), Matthew Ramsey Scarborough (Debi), Peggy Ann Currington (Jack), and Emory Allison Scarborough (Karen); best friends, Janice Harrison and Liz Kitchens; and five great-grandchildren, along with many other loving family members and friends.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Friendship Baptist Church family, Luverdia Suarez, and Karen White.
