Sara Nell Thacker,100, of Bonaire, GA, died on Aug. 10, 2026.
She was the widow of John Thacker after 38 years of marriage and William I Naugle after 33 years. Born in Dothan, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late Cliff and Effie McGowan. She was a former resident of Middletown, Pennsylvania before moving to Bonaire in 1966. She was a 60-year-member of Bonaire Methodist Church and a member of the Fan Alice Sunday School Class. She was known in Bonaire as the “Cake Lady”, producing an amazing range of cakes, pies, cookies and desserts from her small home kitchen. She lived a long and faithful life and will be missed.
She is survived by her son, W. Charles Naugle (Barbara) of Canton, Connecticut; Stepdaughter Debra Burgin of Warner Robins; former daughters-in-law Janet Naugle of Red Lion, PA and Patty Naugle of Bonaire; Grandson Paul Naugle (Carol) of Dallastown, PA; Granddaughter Holly Eaton (Aaron) of Stewartstown, PA; Grandson Gary Naugle, Jr. (Rya) of Bonaire; Step-Granddaughter Darla West (Shawn) of O’Fallon, Illinois; Step-Grandsons Derek Burgin (Rebecca) of Chattanooga, TN, and Dusty Burgin (Fawn) of Warner Robins. She was also dearly loved by her fourteen great-grandchildren.
She was pre-deceased by sisters Katherine Hall, Bonnie Gibson, Betty Jean McGowan, Bobbie McNeal, and brothers Max McGowan, Cody McGowan, and H.T. McGowan; son Gary C. Naugle and grandson Billy C. Naugle.
Thanks is given to the staff of Summers Landing, Majestic Oaks Home Care Agency, Georgia Hospice, and many friends and neighbors for their loving care these past few years.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 29th, 10:00 AM at Bonaire Methodist Church, Rev. Jason Dickerson, Pastor, with visitation from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
McCullough Funeral Home and Crematory has the privilege of being entrusted with these arrangements.
