SFC Earnest Elliott Shellhouse, Army (Ret.) passed away at the Summerhill Senior Living Community on Tuesday evening, November 7, 2023. He was 91 years old.
A native of Cuthbert, Georgia, Earnest was born on February 17, 1932, to the late Webbie and Addie Shellhouse. He met Emma Jane Sinquefield while in high school and upon graduation, they were married on August 9, 1957. Earnest earned a bachelor's degree from Georgia College before the Shellhouse family moved to Warner Robins in the 1970s. Earnest retired from the Army (SFC) as well as Civil Service with the Department of Defense.
Earnest was an avid gardener, landscaper, handyman, and mechanic; he admired nature and animals. During his military career, he traveled all over Europe and especially enjoyed his time stationed in both Germany and Greenland.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Shellhouse was preceded in death by his wife, Emma Jane Shellhouse and son, Dennis Shellhouse; and two brothers, Webb Shellhouse, Jr. and James Patrick Shellhouse.
His memory will forever be treasured by his sons, Earl Shellhouse of Bicknell, Indiana and Jerry Shellhouse of Holly Springs, Georgia; grandchildren, Michael Shellhouse, Amanda Frizzell, Mallory Pecoulas, and Jake, Josh, Lance, Rachel, Charlotte, Violet, and Emma Shellhouse; great-grandchildren, Landon Schneck, Preston Schneck, Nathan Pecoulas, Adam Pecoulas, and Johnny Shellhouse; brother, Billy Shellhouse of Dothan, Alabama; sisters, Sara Hall of Newhall, California and Betty Holmes of Dothan, Alabama.
At the family’s request, all services held will be private.
