Jerry Anderson, Jr., 78, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 29, 2017.
Jerry was the first of six children born to the late Jerry Anderson, Sr. and the late Anna Mason Anderson. At the age of 17, he joined the United States Army where he proudly served for 26 years. Mr. Anderson had a distinguished military career which included three on-year tours of duty in Vietnam. He attained the rank of Sergeant First Class and received the Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Medal, and was awarded Good Conduct Medals.
Upon his military retirement, Jerry entered into a career with the Newport News Sheriff's Department in Virginia where he served as Deputy Sheriff for more than 25 years. He retired with the rank of Captain.

Jerry leaves his love to his daughter, Frances Burnett of New Orleans, Louisiana and son, Jerald L. Anderson III of Las Vegas, Nevada; fifteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Price of Hephzibah, Georgia; special grandson, Daniel D. Williams; stepson, Merlin M. Cully; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends who he loved dearly.
