George Washington Tucker Jr. passed away peacefully on Monday, March 30, 2026, in Macon, Georgia.

He was born in Alberta, Virginia, the only son of the late George Washington Tucker Sr. and Marie Tucker.

George was a 1968 graduate of James Solomon Russell High School in Lawrenceville, Virginia. Later that year, he enlisted in the United States Air Force where he rose to the rank of Senior Master Sergeant (SMSgt) and served his country for 23 years, in locales spanning the globe. Following his retirement in 1991, he worked for Lockheed Martin as an engineer.

In his free time, he rode with the Tuskegee Airmen Motorcycle Club. He was a true music connoisseur, owning an extensive vinyl collection of music, including his favorite artists, James Brown and Tower of Power.

George is survived by his wife of 53 years, Rita Tucker of Bonaire, Georgia; a son, Stephen Tucker (Julia) of Copenhagen, Denmark; two daughters, Stephanie Hooper (Brian) of Los Angeles, California and Jessica Barnes (Alex) of Baltimore, Maryland; three granddaughters, Monroe, Maddox, Selma; one grandson, Silas; and a host of family and friends.

A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 18, 2026, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with a memorial gathering from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Military Honors will be rendered.
