Horace Randall Daniel, 80, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 17, 2026.
Horace was born on September 17, 1945, in Rutledge, Georgia, to the late William and Fannie Mae Peters Daniel.
He was raised in Social Circle and attended Social Circle High School. At just 17 years old, Horace answered the call to serve his country by joining the United States Air Force, beginning a distinguished 24-year military career.
During his service, Horace rose to the rank of Senior Master Sergeant (SMSgt). He served on the flight line and as First Shirt over Avionics Maintenance Systems and over Operations Maintenance Systems. His military career included service during the Korean War and the Vietnam War. His dedication, leadership, and steadfast commitment to those under his command earned him the respect and admiration of many.
Following his retirement from the Air Force, Horace continued his life of public service as Supervisor of the Street Department for the City of Warner Robins, where he worked for 24 years. Even in retirement, he remained active, discovering a passion for woodworking. He lovingly crafted birdhouses for family, friends, and neighbors, each piece a reflection of his care and generosity.
Horace was a proud member and Past Master of Tyrian Masonic Lodge No. III, a Shriner, and a member of the Scottish Rite.
He attended Southside Baptist Church; his faith was an important part of his life.
He will be remembered as a stubborn yet hardworking man who always put his family first. Horace was deeply devoted to his wife and children, consistently looking after them and ensuring they were cared for. He was generous in supporting charitable causes and was known for being understanding, loving, faithful, and considerate. His strength, integrity, and quiet acts of kindness leave a legacy for all who knew him.
Horace’s life was one of service, to his country, his community, his faith, and most of all, his family. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
His memory will forever be treasured by his wife of 57 years Janie Daniel, his children, Horace “Randy” Daniel (Michele) and William Rodney Daniel (Jeniifer), his grandchildren, Savannah Daniel (Garrett Goff), Austin Daniel (Brooke), Robert Daniel, Alisa Bouthiller (Eric) and Genny Hutcheson, great grandchildren, Camden McDowell, Tory McDowell, Gracie Garner, Lexi Garner, Theodore “Theo” Bouthiller, Griffin Goff and Grayson Goff, his sister, Sheila Colston (Andy), along with a host of extended family and friends.
Visitation will be Monday, February 23, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home with a funeral service to follow at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Afterward, Horace Randall Daniel will be laid to rest at Magnolia Park Cemetery.
