Smsgt. Robert Edward "Bob" Sisk, Usaf (Ret.)

February 12, 1931 — April 14, 2020

Robert Edward “Bob” Sisk departed this life for his eternal rest on Tuesday, April 14, 2020. He was 89 years old.

Bob was born in the town of Winchester, Tennessee, in Franklin County on February 12, 1931. He was the first of two children born to the late George Buford and Gracie Lou Summers Sisk.

Bob graduated from Franklin County High School in 1950. He entered the United States Air Force on January 2, 1951, and proudly served our country for 26 years; he retired having attained the rank of Senior Master Sergeant. Bob served during both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. After 15 years as a Civil Servant at Robins Air Force Base, Georgia, he retired for a second time in 1992. Bob then took on his hardest job, working for his wife in her catering business, until they retired in 2008.

On September 27, 1957, he married the love of his life, Joan Davis Sisk; this marriage lasted some 62 years. They had one daughter, Karen Sisk Yeager. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and was a faithful Christian to the end. Bob was a member of Warner Robins Church of Christ where he served as a deacon in mission work and then as an Elder for approximately 15 years.

Bob’s love of magic started at an early age and he enjoyed performing for kids and adults alike. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians and was a charter member of the Middle Georgia Magic Club. He belonged to a few organizations such as The GRAND (Government Retirees Are Never Disbanded), NARFE, AARP, and many senior groups. Bob served as chaplain for several of these.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, G’Anne Sisk Mitchell.
Bob is survived by his wife, Joan Davis Sisk and daughter, Karen Sisk Yeager (Rick), both of Warner Robins; grandchildren, Shawn Yeager (Jaime Applegate Yeager) of Roswell and Danielle Yeager of Bonaire; and great-grandchildren, Cole and Kora Yeager of Roswell.

A private graveside service for Bob’s family will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 17, 2020. Due to the Covid-19 restrictions in place, and for friends who would like to show support to his family and celebrate his life from a distance, the services for Bob will stream live online from the McCullough Funeral Home and Crematory Facebook page.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Bob Sisk to the American Cancer Society, 804 Cherry Street, Ste A., Macon, GA 31201.

McCullough Funeral Home and Crematory has the privilege of being entrusted with these arrangements.
