Robert G. "Bobby" Watson, Sr. 78, passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2016.

Bobby was born on May 17, 1937 in Macon, Georgia but lived the majority of his life in Warner Robins. After attending Lanier High School, he faithfully served in the Air National Guard's 202nd communications squadron, including several overseas deployments. Bobby retired at the rank of Senior Master Sergeant after 23 years. In 1955, He began his career at Southern Bell where he held a microwave and radio license, working in both Macon and Warner Robins. In 1959 Bobby became a member of Central Baptist Church where he and his wife, Carolyn (Scruggs) Watson were married that same year.

After a long career at Southern Bell, Bobby owned and operated several cable companies in the Middle Georgia area. He was President of Watson Cable Company, still family owned and operated. Bobby was a history buff and enjoyed collecting vintage firearms and memorabilia. His interest in firearms later led him to found an additional business, Bob's Guns.
He was a longtime member of the Warner Robins Chamber of Commerce and also served on the Houston County Planning and Zoning Appeals board for several terms. Bobby was a past president of the Centerville JayCees and was a Webelo Scout Master at one time. However, his greatest joy was found in his family and most particularly in being a loving "Paw Paw" to his five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
His parents, Arthur and Mamie (Thomas) Watson; sisters, Evelyn Johnson, Barbara Watson, Doris Barfield; brothers, Charles Watson, Walter Lee "W.L." Watson; and nephew, Charles Barfield, preceded him in death.

His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of 56 years, Carolyn Scruggs Watson of Warner Robins; children, Robert G. "Robbie" Watson, Jr. (Pam), Thomas A. Watson (Tammy), and Susan M. Watson, all of Warner Robins; grandchildren, Joshua Watson, Brandy Watson Morse (Ben), Autumn Watson, Robert Gerald "Chip" Watson, III, Jared Michael Watson; great grandchildren, Brayden and Brynlee Morse; and nieces and nephews, Richard C. Watson, Richard Watson, Patsy McAllister, Jeff Scruggs, Bobby Scruggs, Sonny Barnes, David Johnson, Dean Johnson, and Gayle Harris.

Visitation will be Monday, February 1, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 in the Chapel of McCullough. Following the service, Robert will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Mausoleum.
