Ssg Robert Linville Sergent, U.S. Army (Ret.)

Robert Sergent, age 91, entered into eternal rest on the morning of Tuesday, September 13, 2016 in the hospice unit at Carl Vinson VA Medical Center.

Robert was born in Shelby, Ohio to the late David and Ada Sergent on March 4, 1925. He was a proud United States Army Veteran serving his country valiantly during World War II and retiring with the rank of Staff Sergeant. Following his military career, Mr. Sergent worked in Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base for over 20 years before retiring. He enjoyed reading and listening to classic music, but most importantly, he loved his family and spending time with them.

In addition to Robert's parents, he was also preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.

His memory will forever be treasured by his devoted wife, Alice Sergent; children, Robin Sergent, Jean Kline, Susan Cox (Brad), Tony and Tim Lin, and Tom Lim (Jean); many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and sisters, Mary Stensgard and Oleta Toole.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 16th in Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery where he will be laid to rest.
