Born on June 17, 1939, in Altoona, Pennsylvania, Lynn was the son of the late Elmer and Anna Boyles McCall. He was the youngest of five children and grew up in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania. At just 13 years old, Lynn began working as an apprentice plumber and attended Hollidaysburg High School.
Lynn was raised in a Christian home. His father worked as a railroad firefighter, and it was during these early years that Lynn developed a lifelong love for locomotives and trains, a passion that would stay with him throughout his life.
As a young man, Lynn enlisted in the United States Air Force, proudly serving his country for 20 years. His service included assignments at Homestead Air Force Base, served an overseas duty in Thailand, where he installed plumbing for barracks and repaired air traffic control towers. He was later stationed in Georgia before serving another overseas tour in Okinawa, Japan. After retiring from active duty, Lynn continued his dedication to service through the Air Force Reserves and later worked in maintenance at Coldwell Banker.
As a civil engineer, Lynn had a deep appreciation for mechanics and engineering. He loved fast cars and spent several years meticulously refurbishing a roadster until it was restored to pristine condition. His passion for trains extended to building elaborate model train sets, and he had an enduring fascination with aircraft. Lynn flew Piper planes and was an active member of the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA), Chapter 38. He also served as the co-pilot to his best friend, Carl Tischer, and together they flew all over the country, sharing countless adventures and camping trips. Lynn loved to travel and vacation.
A natural tinkerer, Lynn could fix or rebuild nearly anything. One of his proudest accomplishments was restoring a pre–Civil War era home to an immaculate condition. He was known for his kindness, compassion, booming voice, and sense of humor. Lynn loved life and being around people, was a peacemaker by nature, and proudly lived up to the title of “Yes, dear.” Above all else, he put his family first, praying daily and giving thanks to God throughout his life.
Faith was the cornerstone of Lynn’s life. He was a devoted member of several churches over the years, including Calvary Baptist Church, Countryside, First Christian Church in Perry, and for the past 10 years, Central Baptist Church. Lynn was faithful in attendance every Sunday and Wednesday, living his beliefs through service, humility, and love.
In addition to his parents, Lynn was preceded in death by his precious wife, Thi Mot "Seven" Bagley; and former wife, Jo Ann Campbell, whom he was married to for over 20 years; and siblings, Thelma Robison, Loren McCall, Lois Godfrey, and Robert McCall.
His memory will forever be treasured by his children, Kathy Sweeney (Frank), Kevin McCall (Laura), stepchildren, Linda Bagley, Jim Bagley, Johnny Bagley, and Annette Bagley-Martin (Greg); grandchildren, Daniel Sweeney, Parker McCall, Alexis Burnette Raymer (Logan), Jeffrey Austin Burnette, Ashlee Anne Burnette Falcione (Korben), Ashten Martin (Katlin), Brenden Martin (Abby), Presten Martin, Hailee Bagley-Pyles (Austin), Koby Bagley (Cam Nhung-Cao-Bagley), and Turner Bagley; and great-grandchildren, Emberlee Pyles, Rowan Martin, Willow Martin, Emmerson Raymer, and Landry Raymer; as well as two stepchildren, three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren from the union of Jo Ann Campbell; and numerous nieces, nephews, other beloved extended family members and friends.
Visitation will be on Monday, January 12, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Afterward, SSgt. Lynn Davis McCall, USAF (Ret.) will be laid to rest in Parkway Memorial Gardens.
