Stephen Jack Holt, Sr., 70, passed peacefully into the arms of his Savior on Thursday, October 1, 2026, surrounded by the family he loved so dearly. Born on June 1, 1956, Jack was the son of Allen Holt, Jr. and Virginia Holt.
Jack lived a life fully devoted to Jesus Christ, serving Him with all his heart, soul, and strength. His faith was not simply something he professed; it was the foundation of his life and shaped the way he loved his family, served others, and walked through each day. He faithfully shared with others what God had done in his life and spoke openly about the hope, grace, and salvation found through Jesus Christ.
More than anything, Jack wanted others to know the Savior he loved and served. His greatest desire was that those he encountered would come to know the loving Jesus who had transformed his own life. He never wanted to keep his faith to himself and used the story of his life as a testimony to God's goodness and grace.
Jack's family was one of his greatest earthly blessings. He loved them deeply and treasured the time spent surrounded by his children, grandchildren, and those who became family through marriage. The love he poured into them, along with the example of faith he lived before them, leaves a legacy that will continue for generations.
Today, Jack's family finds comfort in knowing that he is rejoicing in Heaven, free from pain and illness and reunited with loved ones, friends, and mentors who went before him. Although his absence leaves a tremendous void, they rejoice in the assurance of his eternal home and hold tightly to the promise that, for those who know Christ as their Savior, this is not goodbye but simply, "See you later."
Jack's life pointed others toward Christ, and even in his passing, his family knows what he would want most: for others to know Jesus personally and experience the same hope that carried him throughout his life. His testimony remains a simple but powerful invitation:
“Do you know Him today? If you do, you will see Jack again.”
Jack is survived by his beloved wife, Sonya Holt; children, Jack Holt, Jr. (Rebekah), Keith Holt (Stacy), Ben Holt (Jenni), Philip Holt (Lelin), Sandy Ruoss (Tyler), Sarah Canter (Corey), Rebekah Chitty (Daniel), and Rachel Brinkley (Austin); grandchildren, Jerry Holt, Ansley Holt, Taylee Holt, Sierra Holt, Elayna Holt, Savannah Holt, Vanessa Holt, Ty Holt, Riley Holt, Karson Holt, Rosie Holt, Kooper Holt, Jake Holt, Hayes Holt, Lili Kate Holt, Braylee Ruoss, Barrett Ruoss, Rivey Ruoss, Makayla Canter, Porter Canter, Macie Chitty, Walker Chitty, and Marley Brinkley; siblings, Allen Holt III (Kaye), Marty Morris (Sammy), and Jill Lovern; brother-in-law, Barry White (Shirley); nieces and nephews, Marc Holt (Stacey), Mike Holt (Susi), Brooke Rasheed (Ryan), Katy Hirschel (Josh), Kimber Sheffield (Justin), Jeff Lovern (Kristina), Steven White, and Jennifer (Chris), along with the generations of family who brought Jack so much joy.
