Steven Reed Dempsey

Steven Reed Dempsey, 71, known to most as Bo Demps, of Warner Robins Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2026. Steve was born in Griffin Georgia, on August 19, 1954, to his proud parents Bo and Gladys Dempsey. Steve graduated from Warner Robins High School in 1974.

He was preceded in death by his father John Wade (Bo) Dempsey Jr. and Gladys Lavonia Dempsey. Steve was a man with a larger-than-life personality and a heart full of love. His love and ear for music were something he was known far and wide for. Steve not only had an ear for great music, but he also was a talented artist, even though most did not know his talent for drawing. His most proud achievements were his daughters Erin Claire Dempsey Freeman and Taylor Marie Dempsey. He was never shy to tell anyone about them and how special they were to him. He loved his brothers and had some of the best stories that he would share from times during their childhood, to working together, or hanging from the rafters at concerts doing spotlights.

He is survived by his daughter Erin Freeman, her husband Kenny and their children Nora (10) and Thatcher Freeman (6) and his daughter Taylor Dempsey; his brothers Douglas Dempsey, Randall Dempsey and Jeffery Dempsey; along with his cherished nieces and nephews.

Steve loved his family fiercely and Taylor said it best that "he would give you the shirt off of his back if someone needed it more than he did". Steve loved the Lord and would often say "I am not sure what the Lord has planned for me, but I am here on this earth until he is ready to bring me home". He entered that eternal rest that he knew would be so sweet and joined his parents and friends that have gone before him in paradise.

A service to celebrate his life will be held on Friday, February 6, 2026, at 4:30 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home in Warner Robins, Georgia. Visitation will be from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. prior to the service. Family and friends will also gather after the service at The Farmhouse at McCullough Funeral Home for a meal. Erin and Taylor are overwhelmed and grateful for the outpouring of generosity and love shown to their father during this time.
