Steven Eric “Big E” Atkins passed away suddenly on June 16th, 2023. He was born on October 20th, 1989, at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio, sandwiched in-between his sisters, Becky and Danielle, as the middle triplet.
Eric graduated from Houston County High School in 2008 and was employed by the Swanson House in Perry. Eric loved animals, golfing, watching sports, working, and family trips to the beach.
He is survived by his father Lt Col (Ret, USAF) Steve Atkins; his mother, Leigh-Ann Edenfield and her husband, Scott; brother, John Atkins, his wife Ashley, and their daughter Ava Grace; sister, Becky Reich, her husband Stephen, and daughter Lyanna; sister Danielle Rella, her husband Joe, and children Maddie, Joey, and Sofia; maternal grandparents Lt Col (Ret, USAF) Joe, and Ruth West; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather Col (Ret, US Army) John Atkins and grandmother Erika “Omi” Atkins with whom Eric shared a special bond.
A memorial Gathering will be held Tuesday June 20, 2023, from 6:00p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home.
