Stuart “Wayne” Davis, 70, entered into rest on Thursday, January 4, 2024.

Wayne was born on September 19, 1953, in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. He began his civil service career by working for a Navy base in North Carolina for a short time before moving careers to Robins Air Force Base where he’d remain until 2003. From there, he worked at Patrick Air Force Base in Florida until his retirement in 2013. In his down time, he also worked as a private investigator. During his career, Wayne earned his associate degree in electrical engineering from Wilson College in North Carolina and went on to earn his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Georgia State in Milledgeville. He enjoyed playing bass guitar and was in several bands in both the local area as well as North Carolina. In his free time, he loved riding motorcycles and talking car talk. Wayne will be deeply missed by those who love him.

His mother, Carolyn C. Davis, preceded him in death.

His memory will forever be treasured by his wife, Theresa Strait Davis, father, George K. Davis, sisters, Brenda Wiard (Bob) and Sharon Earle along with a niece, nephew, one great-niece and four great-nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 11, 2024, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home.
