April 1, 1951 — December 10, 2025

Byron

Sylvia Maud Longo, age 74, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at Emory Hospital in Warner Robins, Georgia.

Born on April 1, 1951, in Newport, Vermont, Sylvia spent her early childhood on her family’s farm before moving with her family to Milford, Connecticut, at the age of seven. She attended Milford High School and later married her first husband, Edward Charles Hennings, Sr., with whom she welcomed her beloved son.

In 1989, Sylvia met the love of her life, John Longo. The two married soon after and shared many wonderful years together until his passing. Throughout her working life, Sylvia held several jobs, each reflecting her kindness and dedication. She was a longtime employee of the famous Plank House Restaurant in Milford. She later served as a bookkeeper at a school for mentally and physically challenged children. Her favorite role, however, was at Play It Again Pam’s, an upscale women’s consignment boutique. Sylvia excelled there, as she was always dressed to the nines and had a true passion for fashion.

Outside of work, Sylvia enjoyed a quiet and fulfilling life. She was an avid reader, loved to shop and was someone who embraced the joy of being “dressed to impress.” She also had a green thumb and found great peace in gardening and tending to her flowers. Above all, she loved her family and will be remembered as quiet, caring, loving, lovable, and deeply respectful.

In addition to her parents, Sylvia was preceded in death by her husband, John Longo; son, Edward Charles Henning, Jr.; and siblings, David and Michael Foster.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her grandson, Edward Charles Henning, III; daughter-in-law, Dixie Henning; and great-granddaughter, Ellie Grace Henning; siblings, Diane Montville (John Jordan), Will Foster (Maureen), Patrick Foster (Diane), and Daniel Foster (Jeannine).
