Tambra “Tammy” Grimes Draper, age 65, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2026, just one day shy of her 66th birthday.
Tammy was born on April 7, 1960, in North Carolina. As the daughter of a civil servant, she had the unique opportunity to live and travel across the United States and around the world throughout her childhood. These experiences shaped her warm spirit and appreciation for people and places.
During her senior year of high school, Tammy moved to Warner Robins, Georgia, where she graduated from Warner Robins High School as part of the Class of 1978.
Following graduation, Tammy entered the workforce and quickly distinguished herself with her strong work ethic and leadership abilities. She became one of the youngest managers for well-known establishments including Captain D’s, Long John Silver’s, and Pizza Hut. She later worked for the Houston Home Journal before beginning a long and dedicated career with Trane, where she remained until her retirement after many years of faithful service.
Outside of her professional life, Tammy found great joy in simple pleasures. She loved planting flowers and spending time working in her yard, creating beauty wherever she could. She also cherished trips to the beach, where she found peace and happiness by the water.
Tammy will be remembered for her hardworking nature, her love of life, and the care she showed to those around her. She leaves behind a legacy of strength, kindness, and cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Tammy was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Grimes and brother, Kenny Grimes.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her loving husband, David Draper of Bonaire; children, Darren Draper (Amber) of Atlanta and Leigh Roland (Robbie) of Bonaire; grandchildren, Laila, Robbie, Jr., Alicia, Colton, Graham, Lilly, Caroline; mother, Carolyn Grimes; and sister, Barbie Hill (Ronald).
At the family’s request, all services will be private.
McCullough Funeral Home and Crematory has the privilege of being entrusted with these arrangements.
