Thomas A. Lord

Thomas A. Lord, 71, passed away on Wednesday, December 5, 2006. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 12, 2006 in Satilla Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery located in Hazlehurst, Georgia. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Serenity Gate Hospice 1120 Morningside Drive Perry, Georgia 31069.

Mr. Lord was born on June 15, 1935 in Hazlehurst, Georgia. Mr. Lord served for a short time in the United States Marines Corp and later retired from the United States Air Force. He served during the Korean conflict and the Vietnam era. Upon retirement, he worked for the US Postal Service as a mail carrier. His wife, Bernice Shepherd Lord, parents, Benjamin Franklin Lord and Thelma Hand Lord, and his sister, Carlene Williams, all preceded him in death.

Survivors include his sons, Thomas B. Lord (Stephanie), Michael Lord, granddaughter, Amanda Lord, all of Bonaire, Georgia.
