Thorwald Pearce

Thorwald A. Pearce, 78, entered into rest on January 20, 2010.

Mr. Pearce was born on October 1, 1931, in Pitts, Georgia. He lived most of his younger years in Glynn County. With pride and honor, he served his country in the United States Navy for thirty years during the Korean and Vietnam conflicts, retiring as a Chief Petty Officer. He continued his government work as a civil servant at Kings Bay in Brunswick. His parents, William Aubert and Stella Mae Pearce; and a precious granddaughter preceded him in death.

His memory will forever be treasured by his children, David Aubert (Lisa)Pearce, Merritt Island, Florida; Vickie Lynn (Clint) Burris, Warner Robins; Angela Faye Brock, Brunswick; eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; brothers, Ashford, Austin, Elvin and Wayne; sisters, Bobbie Wilson, Bonnie Allen and Margie Blanton; and his ex-wife, Betty Pearce, Warner Robins.

Visitation will be Sunday, January 24, 2010, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 25, 2010, at Union Church, in Pitts, Georgia. Interment will follow in the Union Church Cemetery, with Reverend Buford Tanner officiating.
