Tony Edward Stephens, beloved son, brother, and friend, entered into eternal rest on June 2, 2025, at the age of 64. Born on March 2, 1961, in Macon, Georgia, Tony was the cherished son of the late James Arthur Stephens and Dorothy Mae Self Stephens. He spent his life in the heart of Middle Georgia, where he touched many lives with his warm spirit and gentle soul.
In 1968, Tony was honored as the Easter Seal Child for Houston County, Georgia, a testament to his strength and the love his community had for him even at a young age. One of his proudest accomplishments came at the Perry National Fair, where he earned a blue ribbon for growing the largest pumpkin — a reflection of his green thumb and love for gardening.
Tony was a man of many passions. He found great joy in baking, cooking, painting, and fishing, often sharing his talents and creations with friends and family. Time spent with his loved ones was what he valued most. Whether gathered around the dinner table, enjoying a quiet afternoon outdoors, or watching one of his favorite Western movies or an episode of Swamp People, Tony’s presence brought warmth and laughter.
A lover of life’s simple pleasures, Tony had a particular fondness for pizza and collecting model cars. He was a lifelong member of Second Baptist Church.
His kindness, creativity, and love for his family will be remembered by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Tony was preceded in death by his brother, James Timothy Stephens.
His memory will forever be treasured by his niece and nephew, James “Matt” Stephens (Nicole) and Miranda; great nieces and nephews, Madison, Mikayla, Kolby, Brendan (Camryn), and Kamryn; great-great niece Raylan; cousins, Shonda, Wade, and Lauren; sister-in-law, Wanda Stephens (Raymond) and their daughter Karly; and several other extended family.
Visitation will be Friday, June 6, 2025, from 11:00 p.m. until 12:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home with a funeral service immediately following in the chapel. Afterward, Tony will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
