Tracey Cumbee Chastain entered into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, October 27, 2026.
Tracey was born on September 14, 1946, in Thomasville, Georgia, to the late John and Beatrice Cumbee. Raised in Thomasville, Georgia, she graduated from Thomasville High School before continuing her education at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College. Following college, Tracey married, began raising her family, and entered the workforce, beginning a life filled with hard work, dedication, and a genuine love for people.
Tracey began her career in banking before going to work for Pope Maintenance at Robins Air Force Base. She later worked for Tom Eaton Mini Storage before finding her true professional passion in real estate. For 37 years, Tracey was a dedicated real estate agent with Golden Key Realty, where her outgoing personality and natural ability to connect with others made her a wonderful fit for the profession. She truly loved her work and continued doing what she enjoyed until earlier this year.
Full of life and personality, Tracey had a way of making those around her smile. She was loving, kindhearted, outgoing, and wonderfully funny, with a strong will and a spirit all her own. She never met a stranger and was blessed with many dear friends who loved her for exactly who she was. Tracey enjoyed shopping, especially when it came to finding something special on QVC, and she always appreciated time spent at the beach. Above all, she treasured her family and the moments they shared together.
Her Christian faith was an important part of Tracey's life. She attended Southside Pleasant Hill, where she especially cherished the fellowship and friendships she found within her small group. Previously, she was an active member of First Baptist Church of Centerville, faithfully serving on numerous committees, including the Pastor Search Committee. Her involvement in the church reflected her love for the Lord and the relationships she built with those around her.
Tracey will be remembered not only for the deep love she had for her family and friends but also for the joy, laughter, and unforgettable personality she brought into their lives. Her fun-loving spirit, warm heart, and ability to brighten a room will remain cherished memories for all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
In addition to her parents, Tracey was preceded in death by her beloved husband Doug Chastain and son Bryant Chastain.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her children, Pat Chastain (Paigh) of Warner Robins and Mike Chastain (Carrie) of Perry; grandchildren, Ashton Griffin (Zack) of Byron, Jake Chastain (Mackenzie) of Gray, Carleigh Chastain of Warner Robins, Eli Chastain of Perry, Kylie Chastain of Perry, and Rex Chastain of Perry; great-grandchildren, Elli Chastain of Byron, Aubrie Chastain of Byron, Walker Chastain of Gray, and Carter Chastain of Gray.
Visitation will be Friday, October 30, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at McCullough Funeral Home with a funeral service immediately following in the chapel. Afterward, Tracey will be laid to rest in Centerville Cemetery.
