Trinidad Valdez III 69, entered into rest on Tuesday , November 25, 2025.

A proud Texan of San Antonio, Trinidad proudly served our country for 36 years during his time in the Air Force and civil service career. He lived his life with quiet strength, loyalty, and a work ethic that never once wavered. He took pride in every job he ever did, and he taught us, both in what he said and in how he carried himself, what it means to show up and give your best.

Family was everything to him. Married for over 39 years, he loved his wife and family fiercely, supported us without hesitation, and was happiest when we were all together. He did not need big moments to show his love; it showed up in the everyday things: the well-timed advice, the teasing that made us roll our eyes, the hugs, the steady presence you never had to wonder about, the reassurance that came simple from him being there through thick and thin.

He enjoyed the simple joys of life: good BBQ brisket, cheering on his San Antonio Spurs, traveling to new places from California to Costa Rica, and spending time on the softball field. He never met a stranger, and had a way of making people feel welcome with his warm smile, whether he had known you for five years or for five minutes. He was a favorite among the kids of the family because he loved being goofy. He could start a conversation anywhere, at a gas station, in a checkout line, and somehow walk away with a new friend every time.

Trini leaves behind a lifetime of memories, lessons, and love that we will carry with us. We will miss him more than words can say, but we are grateful for every moment we had with him. We know his legacy will continue in the way his kids and grandkids live, love, work, and look out for one another, just as he taught us.

Trinidad is preceded in death by his parents, Trinidad Valdez, Jr. and Guadalupe Valdez; sister, Josie Valdez; and brother, Robert Valdez.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years Rebecca Chavarria Valdez; daughters, Stephanie Smith (Stephen), Josephine Valdez (Mark), and Angelica Glaze (Alan); grandchildren, Bryton Trinidad Smith, Caroline Marie Smith, Cora Grace Meagley, Elliott Reese Glaze, and Naomi Kate Glaze; siblings, San Juanita Valdez, Grace Valdez-Soria, Manuel Valdez, Edward Valdez, Michael Valdez; and countless nieces and nephews.
