Trudy Spear Hester

Trudy Spear Hester, 73, entered into rest on Tuesday, January 9, 2024.

Trudy was born on April 22, 1950, to the late Mildred E. Wilson and Herman Spear. She was a devoted wife and mother who could often be found volunteering at her son’s school and church activities whenever she was able. Trudy was a woman of faith and a longtime member of Sandy Valley Baptist Church. Her happy countenance often left people with a smile on their faces. In her free time, Trudy enjoyed cooking for family and friends and traveling with her girlfriends.

In addition to her parents, Trudy was preceded in death by her husband, John Lee Hester and her beloved son, Reggie Lee Hester, who was her everything. He graduated from and later worked for the University of Georgia in computer engineering. As a result, Trudy was a devoted UGA fan who never missed a game.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her brother, Thomas J. Wilson and his wife Jennifer, former daughter-in-law, Allyson Hester, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving family members and friends.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at Perry Memorial Gardens, where Trudy will be laid to rest.
