William Crosland, 79, held hands again with his beloved wife, Marjorie E. Crosland in heaven on the evening of Wednesday, November 22, 2017.
William was born in Charlotte, North Carolina on May 13, 1938 and was of the Baptist faith. A 22-year Vietnam Veteran of the United States Air Force, he proudly served his country receiving a National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with device, and a Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. William retired with the rank of Tech Sergeant and worked at various different jobs following his military retirement.
He was preceded in death by his wife and parents, David Bailey Crosland and Mary Lou White-Basnight.
He leaves his memory behind with his loving sons, David Crosland (Cindy) of Fort Valley and Robert M. Crosland of Warner Robins; grandchildren, Steven Crosland, David Crosland, Jr., Cheyenne Crosland, and Robert Crosland, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Jeil, Jasmyne, Trinity, and Nikolai Crosland; sister, Louisa Evans (Crosland Overcash); and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Tuesday, November 28, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. After the service, William will be laid to rest in Parkway Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
The family will accept flowers or donations may be given in memory of William Crosland to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105.
