Velice Alberta English passed away on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at the age of 55.

Born on March 10, 1971, in Franklin, Tennessee, Velice was the daughter of the late Hoberth Mosley and Bobbie Talley. She was a woman with a caring heart, a determined spirit, and an incredible love for her family.

Above all, Velice was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. She never hesitated to tell her family, “I love you,” and those words were spoken often and sincerely. Fiercely protective of the people she loved, Velice was always checking on everyone with her familiar question, “Are you okay?” Caring for others came naturally to her, whether through a listening ear, a helping hand, or one of her big hugs. She was a hugger through and through and believed there was always room for a little more affection.

Her grandbabies brought tremendous joy to her life, and Velice absolutely loved spoiling them rotten. There was little she would not do for the people she loved, and her determination meant that once she set her mind to something, she rarely gave up.

Velice found peace and happiness near the water. She loved the ocean, spending time at the beach, going on cruises, and swimming. She also appreciated the beauty of nature and was especially fascinated by the moon and stars. Animals held a special place in her heart, particularly Basset Hounds and owls. Velice had a special admiration for Greek and Roman architecture.

Creative by nature, Velice enjoyed crafts and could often be found with a good book in her hands. She loved the color blue, and tulips were her favorite flowers. Butterflies were another favorite, especially beautiful blue butterflies and monarchs. A hopeless romantic at heart, Velice believed in love and treasured the meaningful moments and gestures that made life special.

Velice will be remembered for her determination, her protective nature, her love of family, and the warmth she so freely shared with others. Most of all, those who loved her will remember her hugs, the way she always wanted to make sure everyone was okay, and the words she made certain her family heard again and again: “I love you.”

Her memory will forever be treasured by her children, Rudy Joel Mosley (Marilyn) of Warner Robins, Georgia, Kristina Mosley of Las Cruces, New Mexico, and Ashley English (Michael Lawrence) of Kathleen, Georgia; grandchildren, Veronica, Vaughn, and Julian; and siblings, Regina Gilbert, Theresa Scales, Clarence Scales, Johnlee Scales and Sammy Mosley.

At the request of the family, all services will be private.

McCullough Funeral Home and Crematory has the privilege of being entrusted with these arrangements.
