Justine Kendall, 89, passed away on Friday, June 12, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family after a life defined by devotion, strength, friendship, and an unwavering commitment to those she loved.
Raised in Middle Tennessee, Justine graduated from Springville High School, where her competitive spirit and athletic talents were already evident. During her high school years, she was recognized as a basketball MVP and All-Star, accomplishments that reflected the determination and natural athletic ability she carried throughout her life.
One of the greatest blessings of Justine's life began in elementary school. While she was in the first grade and Dave was in the third grade, the two met and formed a bond that would last a lifetime. They became school-age sweethearts, and after David graduated and joined the military, he encouraged Justine to remain behind and complete her education. Two years later, he returned for her, and they were married, beginning a remarkable journey together.
As a military wife, Justine embraced the challenges and adventures of moving from place to place throughout Dave’s career. In 1968, the family settled in Warner Robins, Georgia, where they established their permanent home and became a part of the community they cherished for decades.
Justine devoted herself to her family as a homemaker. She was the heart of the household, managing the home, raising the children, paying the bills, attending school events, and ensuring everything ran smoothly. She was a loving mother and grandmother, but she was also the family's disciplinarian. She never subscribed to the phrase "wait until your father gets home." Justine handled matters herself with fairness and strength.
An avid outdoorswoman, Justine was widely known as the best fisherman in the family. Fishing became a treasured family tradition, and some of her happiest moments were spent casting a line alongside her children and grandchildren. Family gatherings at their lake house on Lake Sinclair created memories that will be cherished for generations.
Justine also developed a passion for bowling and spent more than thirty years participating in leagues throughout Middle Georgia. Her talent on the lanes earned her hundreds of trophies and accolades. During her 50’s, Justine was the first woman to bowl a perfect 300 game in Warner Robins. Among all her awards, the trophy she treasured most was her Sportsmanship Award, voted on by her fellow bowlers, reflecting the respect and admiration she earned from those around her.
Throughout her years in bowling, Justine was an active member of the Women's Bowling Association, where she held numerous leadership positions and dedicated herself to supporting the sport and fellow bowlers. She was also a proud member of the Moose Lodge, the American Legion, and enjoyed gathering with friends for bingo games and community activities.
A natural athlete and fierce competitor, Justine approached every sport, game, and challenge with enthusiasm and determination. Whether on the bowling lanes, at a bingo table, or trying her luck with a scratch-off ticket or a visit to the casino, she enjoyed the thrill of competition and the fun of being with friends and family.
As the years passed and many of her friends grew older, Justine faithfully visited those living in nursing homes, offering companionship, encouragement, and kindness. Her loyalty to friends and family never wavered.
Justine was straightforward, strong-willed, and possessed an uncanny ability to read people and situations. She lived her life according to the Golden Rule and the Serenity Prayer, often saying that if everyone followed those simple principles, the world would be a better place. Those values guided her interactions with others and shaped the example she set for her family.
Above all, Justine loved her family. She found joy in time spent with children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and loved ones, whether fishing, gathering at the lake, or simply enjoying one another's company. Her legacy is one of love, strength, service, integrity, and dedication to family. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Justine is preceded in death by her beloved husband of sixty-six years, David Kendall; daughter, Jan Kendall, and grandson, James David Kendall.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her son, Dave Kendall (Miszpah); grandchildren, Crista McDaniel (Courtney), Justine Kendall, Danyelle Lawhorn (Rob), Lois Carmicheal, Michael Wilson (Kelly); great-grandchildren, Tyler, Kala, Jessica, Noah, Alana, Haley, Jeri, DJ, Bradley, Katelynn; great-great grandchildren, Braleigh, Jackson, Kentlynn, Jamison, Emmitt, Hayden, Charli, Hallie Kate, and Jaxx; as well as a host of extended family members and friends.
Visitation with Justine’s family will be held Monday, June 15, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at McCullough Funeral Home with the funeral service, celebrating her life, immediately following in the chapel. After the service, Justine will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Mausoleum.
The family will accept flowers or donations may be given in memory of Justine Kendall to Georgia Hospice Care at 1111 Hillcrest Parkway, Suite C, Dublin, Georgia 31021 or www.georgiahospicecare.com.
