Violet Ruth Shelnutt

Centerville – Violet Ruth Shelnutt, 82, entered into rest on January 14, 2010. Ms. Shelnutt was born on May 13, 1927, in Calhoun, Tennessee. She dedicated thirty two years to Robins Air Force Base as a Civil Servant. Her husband, Lucius Peter Shelnutt, parents, Hezekiah Swafford and Ida Bell Womack, preceded her in death.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her children, A.E. "Gus" (Connie) Stallworth, Jr., Charles H. (Linda) Stallworth, Atlanta; Deloris (Jack) Durden, Macon; and Donna (Euart) Ethriedge, St Augustine, Florida; ten grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren, brother Burkett (Betty) Swafford, Calhoun, Tennessee; and sister-in-law, Thelma Swafford, Cleveland, Tennessee.

Visitation will be Friday, January 15, 2010, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 16, 2010, at McCullough Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be at Perry Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Heart of Georgia Hospice, 1120 Morning Side Drive, Perry, Georgia 31069.
