Virginia B. Reynolds

Virginia B. Reynolds, 90, entered into rest on Monday, March 10, 2014.

Virginia was born on September 1, 1923 in Freeport, New York to the late Stanley and Beatrice Yerbury Burkhard. She graduated from Freeport High School in Freeport, New York and from William-Smith College in Geneva, New York. Virginia was a much-loved elementary art teacher for the West Babylon Union Free School District from which she retired after several years. She attended Keene Congregational Church in Keene, New Hampshire and was a member of the Nature Conservancy and Appalachian Mountain Club. Virginia was an avid outdoorsman who loved to travel, canoe, and hike. Her parents and sister, Joyce Fritsch, preceded her in death.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her adoring children, Donna Arking (Dr. Richard Arking) of Brooklyn, New York, Betsy Johnson (Ray) of Boise, Idaho, Oliver "Bud" Reynolds (Debra) of Moncks Corner, South Carolina and Tracy Clark (Jim) of Warner Robins, Georgia; seven grandsons and two granddaughters; brother, Robert Burkhard of Spartanburg, South Carolina; and many loving nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
