Virginia Strickland Roberts

Virginia Elizabeth Strickland Roberts, 94, entered into rest on Tuesday, April 7, 2009.

Mrs. Roberts was born on March 13, 1915 in Buford, Georgia. She was a retired civil servant who worked as an Inventory Manager at Robins Air Force Base. She had a special interest in genealogy and was a member of the Pilot Club of Warner Robins, and other historical societies such as the Daughters of the American Revolution, the United Daughters of the Confederacy and the Colonial Dames. She was a charter member of First United Methodist Church in Warner Robins, where she was active in the Women's Circle. Her husband, Quinton H. Roberts, and parents, Hall W. Strickland and Lottie Shelley Strickland, preceded her in death.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her son, Wilson (Betty) Roberts; grandsons, Steven (Daphne) Roberts and John Q. Roberts; great-granddaughter, Anjelyn Roberts; brother, Lyman (Sally) Strickland; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be Thursday, April 9, 2009 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 10, 2009 at First United Methodist Church of Warner Robins, Dr. Jimmy Asbell and Reverend Missy Blumenthal officiating. Interment will follow at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, April 10, 2009 at Buford City Cemetery in Buford. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the First United Methodist Church of Warner Robins, 205 North Davis Drive, Warner Robins GA 31093 or to Heart of Georgia Hospice, 103 Westridge Drive, Warner Robins GA 31088.
