Virigina Holton Newberry

Virginia Holton Newberry, 83, passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2015.

Virginia was born on April 23, 1931 in Emanuel County, Georgia. She was a member of Riverside United Methodist Church and a prior longtime member of Mable White Baptist Church. Virginia was also a member of the Eastern Star where she gained the status of Emeritus. She always enjoyed traveling but more than anything she loved caring for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Celebrating the holidays with family and cooking were things close to her heart and it was well known that Virginia would always help anyone in need. Friends and family would all agree that time spent with Virginia was always fun.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Ed Newberry and later, Stan Cobb; son, Stephen A. Williamson; parents, Willie and Lonnie Johns Holton; as well as three sisters and one brother.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her loving children, Sandra W. Martin (Howard) of Townsend, Georgia; David B. Williamson Sr. (widower of the late Kathie Williamson) of Gray, Georgia; and Terrie Rawlins (widow of the late Russell Rawlins) of Warner Robins; brother, Ed Holton (Gladys) of Fort Myers, Florida; sister, Mable Morris (Eugene) of Lyons; eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Tuesday, February 10, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 in the Chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with interment following in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery.
