Walter “Chip” Ray Cooke, III, 62, entered into rest on Wednesday, January 11, 2023.

Chip was born on February 4, 1960, in Sumter, South Carolina to the late Walter Ray Cooke, Jr. and Geraldine Bothwell Cooke. Chip was a big history and military buff. Children always gravitated toward Chip and found him to be incredibly fun. He loved family get togethers and was always nostalgic about the past, especially regarding his dad, whom he idolized. He loved golf and made time to play every week with a group of good friends.

His memory will forever be treasured by his siblings, Fran George, Terri Stover, Sandi D’Angelo and Russ Cooke; and his nieces and nephews, Joey Stover, Shannon Levin, Sarah Cooke, Bridget Simpkins and Kayleigh Haie.

A memorial gathering will be Sunday, January 15, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A memorial service celebrating Chip’s life will immediately follow at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home.
