William R. Powell

William R. Powell, Jr., 81, entered into rest on Tuesday, January 13, 2009.

Mr. Powell was born on March 17, 1927 in Birmingham, Alabama. He was a retired Civil Servant who proudly served for two years in the United States Navy. He enjoyed playing the guitar, was an avid Alabama fan and was of the Pentecostal Faith. His parents, William R. Powell, Sr. and Willie Eufula Powell, preceded him in death.

His memory will forever be treasured by his wife of fifty-six years, Mildred Alexander Powell; son, John Robert Powell, Centerville; grandsons, Dakota and Caleb Powell, Arizona.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Friday, January 16, 2009 at McCullough Funeral Home, with visitation immediately preceding at 1:00 p.m. Inurnment will be in Magnolia Park Cemetery. The Reverend Clinton Stephens will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Heart of Georgia Inpatient Hospice, 1120 Morningside Drive, Perry GA 31069.
