William Joseph Richmond

June 8, 1942 — January 29, 2024

Warner Robins

William Joseph Richmond, 81, entered into rest on Monday, January 29, 2024.

William was born on June 8, 1942, in Dublin, Ireland to the late William and Mary Richmond. A patriot of his homeland, William loved Ireland and called everyone he met “lad”. He served in the Irish Army Reserves and the Local Defense Force. Once he left Ireland, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. A veteran of the Vietnam conflict, he honorably served for 22 years, retiring as a Master Sergeant. From there, he worked as a mechanic in Civil Service on Eglin Air Force Base until his retirement. William was the kind of man who was always friendly and had never met a stranger; he could make conversation with just about anyone. He had a wonderful sense of humor that always kept those around him laughing. A big football fan, or soccer to Americans, he loved to cheer on his favorite team, Manchester United, and was active in both playing and coaching soccer up until just 5 years ago. In his free time, he loved to read and had a big sweet tooth. His presence will be deeply missed by those he held most dear.

In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by his siblings, Mary Richmond, Patricia Pepper, and Frank Richmond.

His memory will forever be treasured by his wife of 41 years, Dee Richmond; children, Misty Robertson of Shelby, North Carolina, Colleain Dillon (Ryan) of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Brendan Richmond (Casey) of Warner Robins, Georgia, and Patrick Richmond of St. Petersburg, Florida; grandchildren, Brooke Robertson, Rylie Dillon, Thomas Hall, Samuel Hall, Emma Dillon, and Amelia Richmond, along with many other loving family members and friends.
