Mr. Willie B. McElhenney passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2003 at his residence. Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, January 16 in the Chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with interment following in Bethel Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Butler. Visitation will be Wednesday from 7:00 until 9:00 pm at McCullough Funeral Home.
Mr. McElhenney was born in Sumter County, Georgia. He was retired from Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base and was a veteran of World War II, having served in the United States Army. He was a Lifetime Member of the VFW. He was also a member of Oakland Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. His parents, Willie B. McElhenney, Sr. and Eva Mae McElhenney preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Lula C. McElhenney, Centerville; daughter, Carole Portwood, Macon; son, Lynn McElhenney, Lizella; sisters, Lucille Blackmon, Tallahassee, FL; Florence Potter, Warner Robins; grandchildren, Pamela Tetterton, Loganville; Greg Portwood, Macon; and April Lasseter, Eatonton.
