Wilma Beggs Dixon, 84, entered into rest on Tuesday, March 21, 2023.
Wilma was born on February 8, 1939, in Brunswick, Georgia to the late George and Martha Talley Beggs. Wilma grew up in Warner Robins, Georgia and graduated from Warner Robins High School in 1957. She went on to earn her Master’s Degree in English and History from Oglethorpe University in Atlanta. Wilma married and started a family in Decatur. She became an early childhood education teacher, working closely with the Headstart program. She went on to work for Social Services through Clayton County. She had various other jobs in healthcare, taught GED classes, and later worked for Heart of Georgia Hospice of Houston County. Wilma returned to Warner Robins, Georgia in 1995. She was very involved in the Parents without Partners program. She loved arts and crafts and cross stitching. She was especially active in her children’s lives and followed them to all their sporting events.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her children, Carol Bass (Greg Burns) of Atlanta, Georgia, Ben Bass of High Falls, Georgia, and Dean Dixon of Warner Robins, Georgia; granddaughter, Rhiannon Price; and sister, Martha Jamison (Ted).
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home.
