Zachary Alan Keebaugh

July 6, 1983 — January 24, 2024

Zachary Alan Keebaugh, 40, died January 24, 2024.

Zach was born on July 6, 1983, in Americus, GA.   He was born into the Family of God through the Sacrament of Baptism, and fully initiated into the faith through the Sacraments of Confirmation and Holy Communion on April 22, 2000, by Monsignor Fred Nijem at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Warner Robins, GA.

In school, Zachary participated in the gifted program with a core group of what became lifelong friends at Morningside Elementary School, Perry Middle and High Schools and graduated with them from Perry High School on May 25, 2001.

Zach attended Georgia Institute of Technology where he formed another core group of lifelong friends and graduated with honors on August 5, 2005. He later attained a master’s degree in philosophy from the State University of New York in Buffalo, NY on June 1, 2011, forming a Buffalo core group of lifelong friends.

Zachary showed a talent for drawing from an extremely early age and the arts in some form commanded his interest throughout his life. His friends and family remember him for his humor, kindness, compassion, humanity, and acceptance of others.  He treated everyone respectfully from bullied classmates, homeless people, those with mental illness and all us whom he loved as friends or family.  He knew how to show others their true value.

Zach was afflicted with a pernicious weakness for alcohol, which began to affect his life from his 20’s and ultimately ended in his death.  No efforts of his or ours, his family, were able to help him defeat this affliction.

Zachary was predeceased by his Grandparents: Donald Keebaugh & Marian (Witt) Keebaugh, Daniel H. Klein & Viola (Cartwright) Klein, Uncles Gregory Keebaugh, Robert Poresky, his aunt, Cynthia (Keebaugh) Abel, and his cousin Laura Poresky.

Zachary’s memory will be forever treasured by his family. His parents, Brian Keebaugh & Kathy (Klein) Keebaugh of Yakima, WA, his aunts and uncles: Barbara (Keebaugh) Poresky, Becky (Thompson) Keebaugh, Jerrel Thompson & Cynthia (Klein) Thompson, Daniel L. Klein & Linda (Radenbaugh) Klein, Rueben Klein & Victoria (Josephson) Klein, Randall Klein & Dawn (Reynolds) Klein and his eleven cousins and their children.
